Heat transfer printing generally requires three or four color bands, and a color page needs to be printed three to four times. The heat transfer printer can use ordinary paper with high printing accuracy and bright colors, but it is slow in printing speed and expensive in cost and operation.

Thermal transfer printer is also called dye sublimation printer. Heat transfer printers use transparent dyes to print, rather than using transparent inks.
