Acrylic fiber is one of the three major varieties of synthetic fiber, and its output ranks third after polyester and nylon. It is soft, light, warm, corrosion-resistant, light-resistant and wool-like short fiber. The density is smaller than wool. It is called artificial wool.

Due to the compact structure of acrylic fiber, its hygroscopicity is low, and the moisture regain is about 1.2-2.0% under general atmospheric conditions. Its dyeing property is poor, and it is improved after the introduction of the second and third monomers. The fiber is cooled rapidly under tension, and the fiber is fixed under the condition of large internal stress. This kind of fiber has latent shrinkage after heating, that is, thermal resilience.
