The advantages of rotary tiller are obvious. Firstly, it has strong soil crushing ability and can complete multiple tasks such as plowing, raking, and leveling in one go, improving work efficiency. Secondly, after rotary tillage, the soil is finely divided, the soil fertilizer is evenly mixed, and the surface is flat, which is conducive to sowing or transplanting. In addition, the rotary tiller has a wide adaptability range to soil moisture, reducing the phenomenon of tractor wheel slip on wet ground.

Rotary tillers are mainly divided into three types according to the configuration of their rotary blade shafts: horizontal axis, vertical axis, and inclined axis. Among them, the horizontal rotary tiller is the most widely used due to its strong soil crushing ability. With one operation, the soil can be finely divided, the soil and fertilizer can be evenly mixed, and the ground can be leveled, meeting the requirements for sowing in dry land or planting in paddy fields. However, the horizontal rotary tiller has poor coverage ability for residues and weeds, shallow tillage depth (12-16 cm for dry tillage and 14-18 cm for water tillage), and high energy consumption.

The rotary tiller uses the power output from the tractor to drive the rotary blades to cut and turn the soil. These blades shred the soil and throw it backwards, further breaking it after colliding with the mudguard. Finally, the surface is scraped and leveled by a flat soil pallet, completing the plowing and raking operations in one go. During this process, the soil is finely divided, the soil and fertilizer are evenly mixed, and the surface becomes flat, providing good conditions for subsequent sowing or transplanting.
