Tennis was conceived in France, born in Britain, and popularized and formed in the United States. It originated from France in the 12th and 13th centuries. At the first modern Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896, the men's singles and doubles of tennis were listed as official competitions.

The tennis court covers an area of not less than 36.6 meters in length and 18.3 meters in width. Within this area, the effective tennis field is a rectangular area with a length of 23.77 meters, a width of 8.23 meters for singles and a width of 10.97 meters for doubles. The net posts installed on both sides of the court are used to support the ball net. The distance between the net posts is 12.80 meters, the distance between the top of the net posts and the ground is 1.07 meters, and the height between the midpoint of the net posts on each side and the ground is 0.914 meters. In the tennis court, the color of the court line is generally white or yellow. Except that the maximum width of the end line can reach 10 cm, the width of all other field ground wires should be between 2.5 cm and 5 cm.
