1,4-BUTANEDIOL/BDO

1,4-Butanediol (BDO) is colorless viscous flammable liquid with the formula C₄H₁₀O₂ and miscible with water, soluble in methanol, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in ether. It is an important raw material in basic organic chemical and fine chemical industry. In particular, the products derived from BDO possess very high value-added, such as polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), the important solvent tetrahydrofuran (THF),γ-butyrolactone (GBL) ,polytetrahydrofuran(PTMEG),N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and polyurethane resin. BDO is used industrially as a solvent andhas very broad application prospects in the field of medicine, cosmetics, plasticizers, curing agents, coating, pesticides, herbicides, artificial leather, fiber, plastics and so on.
