1. Matrine has a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-cancer effects, and action as a kappa opioid receptor and µ-receptor agonist.
Matrine possesses strong antitumor activities in vitro and in vivo. Inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis are the likely mechanisms responsible for matrine's antitumor activities.
2. Matrine is a natural organic pesticide. It kills the pests by contact and stomach poison. Matrine can be used for controlling aphids, red spider mites, cabbage worms, and etc.
Matrine also can be used as fungicide to prevent and control fungal infection of crops like the decay and ring pot of apple trees. It is safe for not producing phytotoxicity. In addition, natural plant extract Matrine liquid has an inhibitory effect on the downy mildew, powdery mildew, gray mold, and epidemic diseases.
