Acesulfame Potassium—also known as Acesulfame K or just Ace-K—is a calorie-free sweetener used in more than 5,000 food, beverage and pharmaceutical products in over 100 countries around the world.  This high-intensity sweetener is approximately 200 times sweeter than sugar

As a calorie-free sweetener, Acesulfame Potassium does not promote tooth decay and is also suitable for people with diabetes.

FDA Approval

The Food and Drug Administration approved Ace-K in 1988 as an artificial sweetener to be used in beverages, and later as an all-purpose sweetener. Over 90 studies were conducted to determine the safety of Ace-K before approval. Furthermore, both the UN's Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives and the World Health Organization have officially declared it harmless for use in food products. Over 100 countries now permit the use of Ace-K.
