Nature:
1. White crystal granular, specific gravity 1.73, melting point 169.8 °C.
2. When heating it above 190 °C carefully, it would be decomposed to Nitrogen Monoxide and Water.
3. May explode under environment of quickly heating it.
4. Easily soluble in water and evolves huge amount of heat, it also easily absorbs moisture and
then quickly cakes.
5. The product has no reaction to strike and friction under normal temperatures.
Application:
1. It is commonly used in agriculture as a high-nitrogen fertilizer, the main component of ANFO.
2. Used in instant cold packs, as hydrating the salt is an endothermic process.
3. Can also used to produce ammonium nitrate fuel oil which has excellent performances with
low use cost and thus widely used in mine exploration, construction, railway/road construction
as well as medical, chemical and other fields.
