ATV is a lightweight off-road vehicle that mainly runs on the beach or desert. It usually has a simple lightweight open body structure, an engine with sufficient torque, and large off-road tires. ATVs first appeared in southern California in the 1950s. At first, it was probably just a modified product made by some amateurs who removed the shell of the old car they wanted to scrap and installed large off-road tires on the remaining chassis. However, gradually, there began to be ATVs that were professionally modified based on the structure of specific models, or directly produced kits for people to assemble and drive.

ATV has wide tires that can increase the contact area with the ground, generate greater friction and reduce the pressure of vehicles on the ground, making it easy to drive on beaches, river beds, forest roads, streams and harsh desert terrain. It can carry people or transport goods.
