The variety of scrap copper is complex, and the recovery and use skills and processes are different, but they are generally divided into two parts: pretreatment and recycling. The so-called pre-treatment is to classify the thick and turbid waste copper, select other wastes mixed mechanically, remove the oil stain on the surface of the waste copper, and finally obtain a relatively pure waste copper of single variety, provide excellent materials for smelting, and then simplify the smelting process.

Scrap copper is discarded after use, such as discarded or dismantled from old buildings and transportation systems. Copper and copper based materials, whether exposed or wrapped in the final product, can be recycled at all stages of the product life cycle.
