Acrylic fiber is one of the three major varieties of synthetic fiber, and its output ranks third after polyester and nylon. It is soft, light, warm, corrosion-resistant, light-resistant and wool-like short fiber. The density is smaller than wool. It is called artificial wool.

Acrylic fiber has excellent light resistance and weather resistance, and is the best among common textile fibers. Exposed outdoors for one year, its intensity only decreases by 5%, and its resistance to sunlight is also one time greater than that of wool and 10 times greater than that of cotton. Therefore, acrylic fiber is most suitable for outdoor use. Acrylic fiber has good heat resistance and ironing temperature is 130-140 ℃. It is not moldy and not afraid of moths, but has poor wear resistance and dimensional stability. The relative density of nylon is small.
