Aluminum powder used for pigments refers to aluminum powder whose particles are scaly, coated with surface treatment agent and suitable for making pigments. Aluminum slurry is a mixture of pigment aluminum powder and solvent. Its use and characteristics are roughly the same as aluminum powder. Because it is easy to use, its output and consumption are larger. Aluminum powder is made of aluminum with light color and high metallic luster. Its surface is smooth and clean. When objects are coated with paint containing aluminum powder, its surface is silvery and bright, which is the characteristic of aluminum powder reflecting light.

The aluminum powder is silvery white metal powder, with spontaneous combustion temperature of 5900 ℃ and dust explosion limit of 40mg/m3. Do not touch dilute acid or strong alkali. When a large amount of dust is damp, it will naturally heat up. The mixture of aluminum powder and other metal oxides will react violently or catch fire in case of fire. Mixing with halogen elements will cause fire. Explosive reactions may occur when heated or rubbed with halogenated hydrocarbons.
