The countercurrent cooling tower has good thermal performance and is divided into three cooling stages:

A. The water temperature in the space from the water distributor to the top of the packing is relatively high, so heat can still be transferred to the air.

B. Filling water and air heat exchange section.

C. The filling to the space spraying section of the sump, where the water is cooled, is referred to as the "tail effect". In northern China, the water temperature can drop by 1-2 ℃. In summary, under the same conditions, the packing volume of countercurrent tower is about 20% smaller than that of cross flow tower, and the heat exchange process of countercurrent tower is more reasonable and has high cooling efficiency.
