In post cycle power generation steam turbine units using coal, oil, and other fuels, a small gas turbine is used as the auxiliary circulation system of the power plant to preheat and blast the boiler, improve combustion, improve efficiency, and directly use power to drive the feedwater pump. In 1947, the first industrial gas turbine in the United States was involved in the operation of the power generation cycle system using this method.

Gas turbine power generation technology has been widely used in major thermal power plants in China. However, the maintenance issues that gas turbines must face during use are not optimistic. Due to the fact that the cleanliness level of natural gas may not be effectively controlled, impurities in natural gas can easily accumulate in the compressor chamber and even corrode the base metal. Many times, manufacturers must undergo a filtration process before introducing gas turbine combustion. Despite filtration, there is still accumulation of impurities and corrosion of the base metal in the compressor chamber. Therefore, the gas turbine must be cleaned regularly. Otherwise, the efficiency of the gas turbine will gradually decrease and affect its service life.
