The installation position of the mudguard is usually behind the wheels, fixed to the longitudinal beam of the vehicle, mainly concentrated in the front and rear bumpers. For some small cars, mudguards also have the function of increasing ground clearance and beautifying the appearance of the body. Due to its ability to absorb and buffer some collision energy, mudguards protect other parts of the vehicle from damage and are therefore a type of automotive safety device.
