There are various types of switchgear, which can be divided into high-voltage switchgear, medium voltage switchgear, and low-voltage switchgear according to the different voltage levels. High voltage switchgear is mainly used in power systems with voltage levels between 3.6kV and 550kV, medium voltage switchgear is suitable for systems with voltage levels between 1kV and 35kV, and low voltage switchgear is mainly used in systems with voltage levels below 1kV.

High voltage switchgear is usually composed of main electrical components such as cabinet body, circuit breaker, isolation switch, transformer, lightning arrester, etc. The cabinet is usually made of cold-rolled steel plate or aluminum zinc coated steel plate, which has the characteristics of high protection level, corrosion resistance, dust and water resistance. The interior of the cabinet is divided into multiple functional units, such as the main busbar room, circuit breaker room, cable room, relay room, etc., to facilitate equipment installation and maintenance.
