The grounded part of the track exerts a backward force on the ground, while the ground correspondingly exerts a forward reaction force on the track, which is the driving force that propels the machine forward. When the driving force is sufficient to overcome the walking resistance, the supporting wheels roll forward on the surface of the track, causing the machine to move forward. The front and rear tracks of the whole machine's track walking mechanism can turn independently, thus making its turning radius smaller.
