The three-layer polyethylene (3PE) coating is extensively utilized in the petroleum pipeline industry due to its superior corrosion resistance, water vapor impermeability, and mechanical properties. The anti-corrosion layer is critical to the lifespan of buried pipelines; pipes of the same material may remain intact for decades or corrode within years, depending on the external anti-corrosion coating applied.
