How to use a mast lift?

Product description

In high-altitude operation scenarios such as factory maintenance, warehouse cargo handling and municipal overhaul, mast lifts have become a reliable high-altitude assistant for many individuals and enterprises due to their advantages of being light, flexible and easy to operate. Different from the complex structures of articulated boom lifts and telescopic boom lifts, mast lifts are mainly designed for medium and low height operations and can be mastered very quickly.

一. Operating Steps of Mast Lifts

Mast lifts are divided into electric mast lifts and manual mast lifts, among which electric mast lifts (driven by batteries) are the most common, and their operating procedures are largely the same.e largely the same.

1. Pre-operation Preparation

First, conduct site inspection: confirm whether the operation ground is flat and hardened, free of ponding, oil contamination and obstacles; a safe space shall be reserved around to avoid collision. If working outdoors, observe the weather conditions; use is prohibited in severe wind, rainstorm and other bad weather.

Second, conduct vehicle inspection: first check the battery power to ensure sufficient power; then check whether the mast is intact without deformation or loosening, and whether the hydraulic pipelines are free of leakage; test the sensitivity of the brake, lifting buttons and emergency stop switch, and check whether the platform guardrails and door locks are intact.

Finally, make preparations for operators: operators must wear safety helmets and anti-slip shoes; wearing slippers or high heels is prohibited. Tools shall be placed inside the platform, avoiding overhigh and overweight stacking, and the rated load of the vehicle shall not be exceeded.

2. In-operation Operation

Open the platform door, and after the operator enters, close the door and fasten the safety lock, stand firm and hold on tight; place tools neatly to avoid affecting the operation.

Turn on the power switch and confirm that there is no fault prompt on the operation panel; press the lift button slowly, and the mast will rise steadily. During the lifting process, observe the surrounding environment to avoid collision with the ceiling and equipment. After the platform reaches the designated height, release the button and the vehicle will lock the position automatically.

If it is necessary to adjust the operation position, first lower the mast to the minimum height, then start the walking button (electric mast lifts can turn on the spot and walk slowly), and lift to operate after reaching the designated position. One reminder: do not move the vehicle at high altitude to avoid vehicle imbalance.

In case of malfunctions during operation, such as jamming during lifting and lowering, power cut and blackout, do not panic and press the emergency stop switch immediately. In case of power cut, the manual lowering device can be used to lower the platform to the ground slowly, contact professional personnel for overhaul, and disassembly by non-professionals is prohibited.

3. Post-operation Finishing Work

After the operation is completed, first sort out the tools, press the lower button slowly and land safely, fully retract the mast and lower the platform to the ground.

Turn off the power switch and unplug the plug; recharge electric mast lifts in time to avoid battery under-voltage. Park the vehicle in a flat and dry area, away from fire sources and heavy objects, and take dust-proof measures.

Clean up the debris inside the platform, check the mast and hydraulic pipelines for abnormalities in time; if leakage and other problems are found, record and report for repair in time.

二、Key Points for the Use of Mast Lifts

Safety is the top priority in high-altitude operations. Although mast lifts are easy to operate, the following rules must be abided by:

Overloading is prohibited; each mast lift has its rated load, and it is strictly forbidden to carry people and tools exceeding the load to avoid vehicle overturn due to loss of balance.

Use on unstable ground is prohibited, such as soft soil, slopes and uneven ground. If the ground is slightly uneven, pad it with backing plates to ensure vehicle stability.

Carry out regular maintenance and replace worn parts in time to extend the service life of the equipment.

Despite the simple operation, operators must receive training on the vehicle's performance and safety specifications before taking up their posts.

Conclusion

Mast lifts are the ideal choice and cost-effective option for medium and low height high-altitude operations. As long as the right scenarios are selected, operation specifications are followed and safety protection measures are taken, high-altitude operations can be completed efficiently.
